Siddha Systems Biology is an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the holistic principles of Siddha medicine—such as Uyir Thathukkal, Mukkutram, 5 Aasayam, 5 Kosham, 7 Udal Thathukkal and Yakkai—with modern systems biology, multi-omics, network biology, bioinformatics and computational tools. It aims to understand the interconnected biological processes underlying health, disease and individual responses to Siddha interventions, rather than studying a single molecule, organ or pathway in isolation. By integrating genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and microbiomics, Siddha Systems Biology can help identify biological signatures, explore mechanisms of Siddha interventions, understand inter-individual variability and ultimately contribute to evidence-based personalised and precision Siddha medicine.
